Last Project -
Installation of a new Maintenance Contract / Billing System
for four countries with over 100 DB2 Tables, CTMS & SSI IMS
databases.
I was the DB2 DBA and took a lead role as a
Business and Technical Analyst for modifications arising from
customer and legal requirements. I also created most of the
JCL Procedures and specified the OPC requirements of the
application.
The unit, systems & user tests were controlled using SCLM
Library Management & cloning techniques.
I was involved in all phases of the development process,
cut-over to production and ongoing support.
Whilst undertaking Production support I was also involved with
the installation of Business changes, Y2K changes and testing,
the cut over to the Euro currency for two of the countries and
performance upgrades to the system.
Previous Project -
Installation and support of an upgrade to an international
accounts package which handles the transfer of goods and services
between different companies within IBM. Recommended a change to
the main database which was accepted and implemented reducing
total accesses to the database by 45%.
Other Projects -
- Proposing and implementing solutions to capacity problems
on customer and internal systems. Reducing the average daily
run time for one application from 17 hours to 4 hours.
- Installing new releases of large MVS/PL1/IMS systems
for Management Information, Billing and Sales Order Management.
Proposed a code change in a date routine reducing overall cpu
usage in one of the MIS applications by 15%.
- Managing the installation and running of a DB2 based Audit
Tool.
